Equipment for Nut Butter Production Line
Below we will explain the role of each key equipment used in the nut butter production line.
1. Stone & Impurity Removal Machine
Before processing, raw nuts are cleaned to remove stones, dust, and other impurities. It is also equipped with a cyclone dust collector that ensures a clean working environment.
2. Nut Roasting Machine
Roasting is a critical step in nut butter production. Proper roasting brings out the natural oils, enhances flavor, and helps with grinding. After roasting, the nuts need to cool down before grinding. A cooling conveyor or cooler ensures the nuts are brought to the right temperature to avoid affecting the grinding process. We offer both batch nut roasters and continuous nut roasters.

3. Nut Lifting Machines (2 units)
Function: These elevators safely and efficiently transfer nuts between processing stages, maintaining a steady workflow.
4. Peeling Machine
After roasting, the peeling machine removes the red peanut skins cleanly, which enhances the texture and color of the final product.
5. Colloid Mills (2 Units)
We typically use two colloid grinders – one for coarse grinding and the other for fine grinding. As the core of the nut butter production line, our colloid mill grinders are engineered for commercial or industrial operations, capable of processing between 30 to 3000 kg/h.
6. Mixing and Storage Tanks
Some nut butters include added ingredients like sugar, salt, cocoa, or oil. To ensure even mixing and consistency, we recommend a jacketed mixing tank or homogenizer.
7. Pumps (3 units)
These pumps handle the transfer of nut paste between different processing stages with hygienic, sealed flow.

The equipment you need can vary depending on the type of nut, your production scale, desired automation level, and end-product requirements. For example, if you’re producing tahini, a sesame seed cleaning machine is essential to remove sand, dust, and other impurities before roasting and grinding.
Factors to Consider When Choosing Nut Butter Equipment
1. Type of Nuts You Process
Different nuts require different handling. For example:
- Peanuts: Usually roasted and peeled before grinding.
- Sesame seeds: Require thorough cleaning before roasting for tahini.
Choosing the right preprocessing equipment ensures better product quality and extends the lifespan of your machinery.
2. Production Capacity
Are you starting a small-scale workshop or planning for large-scale industrial output?
- For small batches (30-100 kg/h), a basic setup with a manual or semi-automatic line may be enough.
- For medium to large businesses (500-3000 kg/h), fully automated lines with feeding systems, pumps, and PLC control panels can significantly increase efficiency and reduce labor costs.
3. Level of Automation
Manual lines are budget-friendly but require more labor and supervision. Automated lines offer consistent product quality, higher throughput, and lower labor costs. But it will be more expensive. Just choose according to your budget and business scale.
4. End Product Requirements
Do you want ultra-smooth peanut butter? Chunky-style? Organic with minimal additives? These choices influence your:
- Colloid mill configuration (coarse + fine grinding)
- Mixing equipment for adding sugar, salt, or emulsifiers
- Homogenizers and vacuum tanks to improve texture and shelf life
5. Hygiene & Food Safety Standards
All of our nut butter processing equipment is made with food-grade stainless steel to ensure cleanliness, corrosion resistance, and compliance with food safety regulations. This is especially important for exporters of certified organic/natural products.
